The path to success is different for every child. For Awino Grace the path has been a bumpy one filled with detours.

Nayamwenge Faisi, a 66-year-old widow in rural Uganda, is building a better future for her family through farming, business training, and support from Give Us Wings programs, while her granddaughter thrives in school through their sponsorship initiative.

Emuria and his grandparents were enrolled in our Family to Family program in 2016. He was about 12. The family was struggling and had no money for school fees, so he rarely attended his local school. When he was enrolled in a private school through our Family to Family program, it quickly became apparent that traditional subjects were challenging for him. He benefitted from being at school — he immediately made friends, was well-fed and cared for at school, and had devoted teachers. But he continued to struggle academically.
